We are currently hiring for a CAD/Quotation engineer. This position reports to the office supervisor and is an integral piece in the job processing pipeline. This position does not require a college degree. This is not a professional engineering role. Anyone with an advanced ability on a computer and a strong work ethic can perform these responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- CAD work on dimensioned drawings
- Creating machine routing paths
- Job costing
- Creating job travelers and routing sheets
- Quoting jobs to customers
- Direct communication with customers
- Requesting quotes and purchasing material
- Reverse-engineering customer parts
- Managing customer projects across shop floor departments
Skills preferred:
- Ability to take and follow directions
- Autocad drafting software
- Understanding of CAD/CAM software
- Familiar with job shop routings
- Microsoft office experience
- Familiar with materials properties from a manufacturing standpoint
- Familiar with manufacturing methods such as milling, drilling, turning, welding
- Ability to handle responsibilities under pressure of deadline
An interest in process improvement/continuous improvement is desirable. Process and quality controls pose big opportunities for improvement. Any and all motivated efforts will be rewarded in this sense.
